Update on my teaching

My Qualifications

I'm still working towards my ATCL piano performance diploma and hope to complete it next year sometime.

In December 2024 I graduated from Ulster University with a 2:1 in my Undergraduate Bachelor's Of Music with a Distinction in Professional Practice. Before studying my Bachelor's Of Music I graduated Ayrshire College with Grade A in HND Music

I have achieved Grade 8 Piano from London College of Music with distinction, Grade 5 Music Theory and have a valid enhanced disclosure DBS check.

My Experience

I have been teaching piano for 10 years and playing piano since I was 10 years old. I founded Ryan Johnston Piano 3 years ago when I started teaching piano and music theory full-time on my Enterprise Placement Year at Ulster University.

My Teaching Experience

In the last 3 years I have had exam success with my pupils. 5 pupils have achieved Initial Grade, 4 pupils have achieved Grade 1, 2 pupils have achieved Grade 2, 1 pupil has achieved grade 3, 2 pupils has achieved grade 4, 1 pupil has achieved grade 5. Also, I've helped pupils achieved good marks in their GCSE piano performances.

I currently teach a wide variety of people as young as 5 years old as to old as over 70 years old. People from different cultural backgrounds and abilities. At the moment I have around 50 pupils per week which means I have had to start a waiting list for September!
